2 t baking powder
1 t salt
2 C butter, room temp
400 g sugar
2 eggs
1 T vanilla extract
1 t almond extract
4 oz cream cheese, room temp
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, powder, and salt.
In a stand mixer, cream butter and sugar.
Beat in eggs, then extracts and cream cheese.
Incorporate dry ingredients just until combined.
Divide dough into two discs.
Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and let chill at least 4 hours.
Roll dough onto a floured surface to a quarter inch.
Bake at 350 for 8-14 mins.
Yields dough for 20 cookies.

Note 1:
For lemon cookies, omit almond extract and add 1 T zest and 1 t lemon extract.
Alternatively, for almond cookies, add 2 more t almond extract.
Note 2:
For funfetti cookies, add up to 1/2 C sprinkles.
Note 3:
For strawberry cookies, add 1 package jello to dry ingredients.
This works for other flavors as well.
